This upcoming Thursday marks another Day of Hope for the IUDM family, and as usual, there is record-breaking spirit in the air. Day of Hope is a day full of endless hype, love and passion for those participating in the Indiana University Dance Marathon. It is probably the biggest fundraising day of the year for the organization and raises an immense amount of awareness for Riley Children’s Hospital. Last year, Day of Hope set the record for the highest money raising day in Marathon history!
The main highlight of Day of Hope is the “hype room” that is constantly filled with crazy amounts of energy throughout the day. The hype room this year is going to be in the AlumniHall in the Indiana Memorial Union. It is scheduled to open at 8 a.m. and will be going until the reveal at midnight. The reveal will take place outside by the Sample Gates, and it is an experience no one should miss. The feeling that fills you when you see that number go up is indescribable! All you need to bring to the hype room on Thursday is a laptop or a phone, and yourself. You should be prepared to text or send emails to every person you know, maybe even an ex or two, and remember that your resources are never-ending. The energy flowing through the room motivates everyone to fundraise even when they think they can’t anymore. It is said that Day of Hope is the most magical day next to the Marathon itself. Clear your schedule, stop by the hype room, and be ready to change not just the Riley kids’ lives... but your own as well.
